Vivo V9 after their launch in Thailand and Philippines on Thursday, the smartphone was launched in India today. The Vivo V9 features a notch in its display and comes with a 24MP front camera with a bunch of sensors. A similar selfie oriented smartphone is about to launch on Monday the Oppo F7 which also features a display with a notch and 25MP front camera sensor. Vivo V9 includes a dual rear camera setup with a 6.3-inch 19:9 display. The smartphone will be available in both online and offline market in India.

The Vivo V9 price in India has been set at Rs. 22,990, the smartphone will be available in only one variant 4GB/64G and comes with three different colour variants Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue and Pearl Black. The Vivo V9 will be available for pre-order via Amazon and Flipkart from 3 pm on Friday. The device will go on sale officially from April 2.

Vivo V9 is fueled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage choice which can be expandable by means of microSD card up to 256GB with double SIM setup. The device sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ IPS display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and Vivo calls it FullView Display 2.0. Overall the bezel size has been brought down which delivers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone bears a dual rear camera setup with 16MP and a 5MP sensor coupled with f/2.0 and f/2.14 aperture. It also offers an ‘Ultra HDR’ mode. On the front, it features a 24MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone takes in dual-SIM and runs Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, this could be the first time Vivo came up with the latest Android update on their smartphone.

Vivo has highlighted the AI-based Face Beautify app which works for the selfie and video calls, apart from a ‘Portrait’ lighting effect and Bokeh depth-of-field effect. Vivo V9 also comes with Face Access 2.0 which can be used to unlock the phone, it also works for App Lock.

Network alternatives incorporate 4G VoLTE, double band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm earphone jack, and a Micro-USB port. Sensors installed incorporate an accelerometer, surrounding light sensor, and a closeness sensor. It keeps running on a 3260mAh battery, with no quick charging help.
